lexiDEX is a cloud based app that provides a space for students to explore and build a rich understanding of their language and how it works. It celebrates that language is an alive and dynamic cultural phenomena that humans share.
It encourages active enquiry and empowers students take control and ownership of their vocabulary. It personalises learning by allowing students to identify and clarify what is interesting and significant to them. This in turn makes words and concepts more meaningful and therefore stickier and more memorable.
As our world continues to move faster and gets more complicated, lexiDEX helps students specialising in different areas to understand and remember specialist technical terminology.Â
Importantly lexiDEX acknowledges that humans use language purposefully – to do things – and that having a strong understanding and working command of all these complexities language can be used is an essential skill.
